Bergshamra – Carl Malmstens Väg

About us

The preschool is located in southern Bergshamra, Solna on the ground floor of a housing association, close to nature. We have an international character where we focus on the importance of language, our equal treatment plan and cherish diversity.

From the curriculum; The preschool shall be permeated by an approach that helps each child develop their understanding of the equal value of all people.

Our objectives

Montessori education is based on the individual development of children. In addition to humble and highly committed teachers, Montessori preschools aim to provide a beautiful and inviting environment with exciting activities.

The Montessori preschool offers subject areas such as mathematics, language, biology, geography, history, practical and sensory work in an exciting and concrete way. Also subjects such as art, themed creation

  • We have singing and music, free play and outdoor activities.
  • We offer sessions in Chinese, English and Spanish, where children sing and learn different words in each language.
  • We use the Tyra app, guardians can easily and conveniently update and manage their contacts and educators write about the daily activities
  • We use Polyglutt, a multilingual digital picture book service for preschool

Priority objectives:

We take care of our environment

We have a conscious environmental approach. From the curriculum, the preschool should place great emphasis on environmental and nature conservation issues. An ecological approach and a positive belief in the future should characterize the preschool’s activities. The preschool should help children to acquire a careful approach to nature and the environment

The environment is shaped and adapted to the children’s needs and we strive for each child to develop independence, self-confidence and empathy. We want to give the children an understanding of the equal value of all people regardless of gender, social or ethnic background. We also want each child to develop respect for all living things and an understanding of their own participation in the natural cycle.

We want every child to have the opportunity to develop their ability to express their thoughts and opinions and thus have the opportunity to influence their situation. The free choice of activity permeates our approach.

The preschool should complement the home by creating the best possible conditions for each child to develop richly and diversely. Development talks, contact days, parent meetings and parent councils, together with daily contact, should create a trusting partnership between preschool and parents.

It is important to allow time for young children’s everyday routines (1.5 – 3 years old), e.g. time for them to take off their outer clothes themselves when they come in.

Our goal is to provide children with a calm and safe environment that will also permeate the youngest children’s everyday life with us. Once inside, there is access to free choice in the form of early practical exercises, art, puzzles, books, sensory/language materials. All children are involved and encouraged to be independent and believe in themselves. All children are helped with everyday chores such as setting, clearing and wiping tables.

We have a toddler group 1-2.5 years and two groups with older children 2.5 -5 years. We who work in the preschool are trained preschool teachers, montessori teachers and nannies.
