The after-school program follows the curriculum for the after-school program
According to the curriculum:
- After-school care should complement the education provided in pre-school and primary school.
- After-school programs are designed to stimulate students’ development and learning and to offer students meaningful leisure time. The curriculum states that teaching is based on pupils’ needs, interests and experiences, but also that pupils are continuously challenged further by being inspired to make new discoveries.
- The curriculum also states that the teaching in the after-school program aims to promote pupils’ imagination and ability to learn together with others through play, movement and creation through aesthetic forms of expression as well as exploratory and practical approaches.
Our structure to follow the curriculum
Mondays
On Mondays there is free play. Pupils are divided into two groups and take turns every two weeks to play outside and inside. We have a partnership with the Swedish Sports Confederation to increase physical activity among our students. This summer we have learned to play boules.
Tuesday and Wednesday
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, there are activities in conjunction with classroom teaching. Activities are based on the current common theme. Here, pupils deepen their learning based on the objectives of primary education. They are given opportunities for creativity, exploration, practical approaches and movement, as well as deepening the core values of the curriculum.
Park play on Thursdays
Pupils are in the nearby park, where there is a variety of opportunities for movement, play and recreation for health and well-being.
